Marvin Help

I have a lot of projects

Park the projects you're not working on in the Backburner. Pick your most important ones (up to 3) so they're always easy to reach. Or plan which projects to focus on each quarter, month or week.

What can help

Backburner

First, narrow the field. Move any project you're not actively working on to the Backburner. It's parked safely, not deleted, so your main list shows only what's live right now.

Most Important Projects

Then pick your focus. Mark up to 3 projects as Most Important (a crown icon) so the few that truly matter stay front and center while you plan your days.

Planning Ahead

Finally, decide when. Assign projects to specific weeks or months so you can see what you'll tackle when, and whether you actually have the time, instead of every project shouting "now."

Ideas to try

Park, pick, plan. Move the projects you're not working on to the Backburner. Mark up to 3 of the rest as Most Important Projects. Then use Planning Ahead to decide which week or month the others get their turn.

Quarterly focus. At the start of each quarter, plan which projects you'll work on this quarter, and which this month. Review it monthly.

Finish before you start. With Most Important Projects set to a maximum of 3, you can't add a fourth until one is done. It's a nudge to finish things.

How to turn on a feature

  1. Open the main menu and click Features, or press S.

  2. Search for the feature by name and turn it on.

  3. Choose where you want to reach it in the Access dialog that opens.

You don't have to try everything at once. Pick the one that sounds most like you, use it for a few days, and see how it feels.
